This website is intended to provide Lathrup Village voters with information related to the performance of Councilwoman Karen Miller, who was elected to office in November of 2021. Since that time, Ms. Miller has maintained a voting record contrary to the best interests of the residents while engaging in unprofessional behavior unbecoming of an elected official and wasting a significant amount of taxpayer funds. Ms. Miller voted “NO” on every project, appropriation, and motion related to improving the City’s crumbling road system. The ONLY exception was when she voted “YES” to repave her OWN road.
While on City Council, Ms. Miller hid behind the bushes at a resident’s home and eavesdropped on a private meeting of concerned citizens, resulting in the police being called to the scene. Subsequently, Fox2 News did a story on this incident, which cast the City in a negative light. The authorities investigated Ms. Miller for potential illegal activity as a result of this and two other incidents.
Ms. Miller ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility, but has been financially reckless and has wasted in excess of $100,000 in taxpayer dollars.
Ms. Miller has exhibited a pattern of using her position on City Council to benefit herself.
Ms. Miller’s voting record has repeatedly shown she does not support maintaining roads and other critical infrastructure in the City.
Ms. Miller fails to understand her role as a government official.
Ms. Miller has shown a variety of shocking, inappropriate, and unethical behavior.
