As discussed in the Financial Irresponsibility section of this website, Ms. Miller was the sole reason why City Administrator Sheryl Mitchell resigned from her position. This departure cost the taxpayers over $80,000. Click here for more detail.
Four other employees have indicated that Ms. Miller’s abusive behavior played a significant role in their decision to resign, which also cost the taxpayers substantially. The only employee who was willing to go on record was Cori Dahl, who spoke about the reason for her resignation in her exit questionnaire. In response to the question, “What could the City have done to prevent you from leaving?” she wrote, “Unfortunately, the new council caused a toxic work environment. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the DDA. However, the new council put pressure on staff that made me want to accept a new offer.” Click here (question 15) to see the exit questionnaire. The departure of these staff members cost the taxpayers significant funds, lowered morale, reduced productivity, and resulted in less services for residents.
